David Beckham insists every England cap he now receives is "a bonus."

The former captain will win his 109th cap, breaking Bobby Moore's record for an outfield player if he features in the friendly against Slovakia at Wembley tomorrow. "Every time I meet up with England, obviously it's a huge honour," Beckham said.

"Every player feels like that. But to be on the amount of caps and the games that I am at the moment, it's a great honour for me.

"I think that every time that I personally meet up with the team it's a bonus because being on probably 94, 95 caps I never expected to make 100. Making 100 people expected me to retire then, so to be on 108 now and hopefully get to 109, I'm happy with that."

The former Manchester United midfielder still has some way to go to surpass Peter Shilton's 125 appearances, and Beckham claims he is not giving that record any thought.

"I am not looking at that record at all at the moment," said the 33-year-old. "I take each game as it comes as I know know quickly it can change.

"Obviously being at AC Milan now gives me more of a chance to be at that higher level to play at international level which is always important. But we'll see. I'm enjoying being with the squad at the moment and hopefully it continues."
