I was surrounded by good friends, all CCI members, waiting for the fireworks to begin
Adrenaline-pumped music blared out of speakers all over the stadium. This was my first live IPL experience and I was filled with excitement. Considering it was 2.30pm, with a match start time of 3pm, I was disappointed to see sparsely populated stands. After all, this was the Cricket Club of India, often spoken of in the same breath as the sacred Lord's in England. And this was the home of Aapla Sachin! For me, he is the epitome of cricketing genius and the best ambassador for our great nation.
Mumbai Indians I wonder if this has anything to do with your ticket pricing?
This was supposed to be an event for the masses. And, finally, at 2.58pm, my idol (Sachin) walked onto the field and it all kicked off.
The crowds were cheering as the beer was flowing...I was in heaven! It was action from the first ball! Mumbai Indians amassed a once thought unachievable target of 213 with class! One thought the game was over and then the magic of 20-20 surfaced. The Royals put in a spirited fight and kept every one enthralled. This was entertainment extraordinaire.
While I'm glad Mumbai Indians won, I was annoyed to see the owner's wife sitting in the dug-out with the players.
I'm happy that my team won and I'm really excited to see the next game at CCI.
The crowds seemed pleased with the nail-biting finish of today's match and I'm sure they will be back for more.
It'su00a0 an absolute joy to witness an event as exciting as the IPL at the at the hallowed grounds of the Cricket Club of India.
The IPL is here to stay and, as an avid cricket fan, I couldn't be more pleased as I am getting to see it in my own backyard.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0
