Duncan Fletcher has ensured that the Board of Control for Cricket in India cannot force him to talk to the media, something which he did not enjoy doing when he was coach of England from 1999 to 2007.
"A clause has also been included in his contract stating that he will not necessarily have to talk to reporters in an official capacity or attend press conferences, though it gives him the option of doing so if he wants to," The Guardian reported yesterday. Until recently, Fletcher wrote for the same newspaper.
