Former Ashes rivals Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan on Monday exchanged a light moment when the two legendary cricketers mimicked the infamous 'head-butt' incident involving English wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow and Australian opener Cameron Bancroft. Gilchrist and Vaughan, who are a part of the commentary panel at BT Sport, were featured in a video parodying the incident.

"Goodness, I was not expecting that, I was just expecting a handshake,'' the former Aussie wicket-keeper said, as Vaughan thumped him on the forehead. However, Gilchrist also lauded both the teams for moving past the incident and treating it as a hillarious occurrence.

"Actually, in all seriousness, well-done England, well-done Australia; clarified everything, moved it on. Let's just focus on the cricket now," the 46-year-old legend concluded. Earlier on Monday, Bancroft had responded to reports claiming that Bairstow allegedly 'head-butted' him during a night out in Perth. "There was certainly no malice in his action and we continued on having very good conversations for the rest of the evening. At the time, he said sorry. For me, it was just really weird. It was so random; I didn't expect it coming. A handshake or a hug is something I would have expected more than a head-butt," the 25-year-old had said, while addressing the media in a post-match conference after Australia won the first Ashes Test with ease.
