World motorsport supremo Max Mosley is excited about Michael Schumacher's return and expects top results from the record world champion.
"Michael Schumacher is a winner, he has proven thatu00a0... He can win," the FIA president said in an interview with Saturday's edition of German daily Bild.
Mosley termed Schumacher's comeback "great" and said "it will give Formula One a big boost."
Pending approval from doctors, Schumacher will take the place of Felipe Massa at the Ferrari team until the Brazilian has recovered from head injuries sustained in a crash two weeks ago in Hungary. His first scheduled race is the European Grand Prix on August 23 in Valencia.
The expectations are huge, but Schumacher's manager Willi Weber, in an interview published on Saturday in the Express daily, tried to play them down.
"The conditions are not ideal," warned Weber, urging modesty.
"Michael doesn't know the car, and neither the (power-boosting) KERS system. He doesn't know the new generation of slick tyres. He has never driven on the course in Valencia."
