Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has brushed aside the notion that funds are not available for signing new players during the January transfer period.
He said that the Glazers are going to provide him with funds if there is a need to buy a player but he is also insisted that he won't be forced to buy players just for the sake of it, the Telegraph reports.
He has also refused to make any kind of hasty signings during the upcoming transfer window and insists that he is happy with the dept of the squad. Ferguson claimed that if quality players are available in the upcoming transfer window then United would definitely try to pounce on it.
"If a really top-class player became available, then we would go for him", said Ferguson "I will not be swayed by the endless tweets and blogs urging the club to get busy in the transfer market next month. But I will certainly listen. I am too long in the tooth to resist new ideas simply out of prejudice and stubbornness", he further added.
United will face Wigan at home and should see off the challenge without any major hiccups. United is currently facing an injury crisis, especially in the midfield department with Tom Cleverly, Anderson and Darren Fletcher, all expected to be out for a long time.
