Contrary to reports which floated around last week about Sourav Ganguly being named captain of Kolkata Knight Riders for Season Three of the Indian Premier League, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan stressed that no decision has been made with regards to the new captain and coach of the team.
"We will be meeting on August 4 and that's when all decisions on coach, captaincy and hopefully a formula for winning at least some of the matches next year would be worked out," Shah Rukh added.
"Nothing has been decided, neither the coach nor the other things I read about in papers. The whole team would be meeting for the first time post IPL on August 4 and it's a series of meetings till August 15."
It was reported that New Zealander John Wright, who enjoyed a good deal of success with the Indian team when Ganguly was in charge, could be John Buchanan's successor at KKR.
Poor yearKKR failed to reach the semi-finals in the inaugural edition of the IPL.
Earlier this year, in the second edition, they fared worse under skipper Kiwi Brendon McCullum, who lit up the 2008 edition with a sizzling hundred in the opening match. Ganguly led the side then when KKR had the services of stars like Shoaib Akhtar and Ricky Ponting.
Buchanan was a flop as coach and quite expectedly ended his term. He later helped the England team.
