Guru chargesheet has nothing to do with me: Srinivasan

Embattled Board of Control for Cricket in India president N Srinivasan on Saturday steered clear from son-in-law and former Chennai Super Kings Team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan being chargesheeted in the Indian Premier League VI spot fixing controversy.

"This is a matter for Mr Gurunath Meiyappan to deal with. If he is chargesheeted, the law will take it own course. He has been suspended so he has got nothing to do with the game. It is up to him to defend his position. It has got nothing to do with me," Srinivasan was quoted as saying by PTI.

And for those who feel Srinivasan should disassociate himself with cricket administration, here's his answer: "Why should I step aside? I am not disqualified and neither can you push me out.

Meanwhile, ‘Wanted accused' Asad Rauf was chargesheeted as well with Meiyappan, but the experienced Pakistani umpire defended himself stoutly: "Discussion and information are two separate things. We can discuss things with people but sharing information is different. I will get in touch with my legal adviser and then I can tell you," Rauf told PTI.
