The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) yesterday announced that Guus Hiddink had stepped down as coach of Turkey after Tuesday night's 3-0 aggregate defeat to Croatia in the play-offs brought an end to Turkey's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2012.

Hiddink led Chelsea to FA Cup success in 2009. "It was great at Chelsea, a terrific time. That doesn't mean I'm ready to start tomorrow. "I need some time to reflect," he said in quotes reported by the Daily Telegraph.
