Stand-in captain Ricky Ponting insists wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has been given an explanation over his omission from the Australia one-day side.

The national selection panel originally declared Haddin had been "rested" from the first three matches of the triangular one-day series, but did not expand on his status after leaving him out of the 14-man squad for the next two games against Sri Lanka and India.
The 34-year-old gloveman said from the outset he considered himself dropped and did not expect to get his place back following Matthew Wade's excellent start to his international career.
But Ponting, claimed the player been told where he stood and added that there was no confusion within the team.
"I think he actually has been given that, face to face. That's my understanding of it all," Ponting said.
