On the eve of the last World Cup qualifying league matches, we look at which teams can make the grade today

Group A
While Belgium (25 points) have already qualified, Croatia (17) can make it to the play-offs irrespective of what happens in today's matches.

Group B
Italy, who play Armenia, are already assured qualification. However, there will be a heated battle for a play-off spot with Bulgaria (13 points), Denmark (13), Czech Republic (12) and Armenia (12) in the hunt.

Group C
Germany have qualified and Sweden are likely to make the play-offs.

Group D
With Holland having made the cut, Turkey (16 points), Romania (16) or Hungary (14) can make the play-offs.

Group E
Switzerland have qualified while Iceland (16 points) or Slovenia (15) can make it to the play-offs.

Group F
Russia lead Portugal by three points and need just a point away at Azerbaijan. Portugul are assured of finishing runners-up whatever the final day results.

Group G
Bosnia-Herzegovina lead Greece on goal difference and need to beat Lithuania away to assure themselves of a spot, as even goal-shy Greece should beat Liechtenstein. The Greeks will be assured of at the very least second regardless of the way the results pan out.

Group H
England lead Ukraine by a point but must realistically beat the Poles to assure themselves of a place as the Ukrainians play pointless San Marino.

Group I
World Cup holders Spain lead France by three points and require just a point to Georgia. France are guaranteed at least the runners-up spot and a place in the play-offs.
