Australian fast bowler Doug Bollinger believes that the endurance issues that hampered his performance last year were overstated.

Australian fast bowler Doug Bollinger believes that the endurance issues that hampered his performance last year were overstated.

The 29-year-old was Australia's most consistent Test bowler last year until breaking down in India with a stomach strain in October.

"I wouldn't say it was endurance last year, it was just the way it was. I just bowled rubbish to be completely honest. But I came back well in the one-dayers for Australia, I was equal [leading wicket-taker] with 'Binga' [Brett Lee]. I will just do what I have to do with my fitness," The Age quoted Bollinger, as saying.

"I obviously got injured [in India] and I didn't have as much match-time and bowling time. Then getting stuck in the field for two days when England got 600 was a bit rough when it was hot as well."

"I have never had an endurance problem before so I don't see it being a massive issue. It was just one of those things, I did my best and it wasn't good enough on the day," he added.

Bollinger further said that he is determined to reclaim his place in the Test attack.

"I want to play all three forms and I think everyone knows that I can," Bollinger said.

"It's just about getting another [Test] opportunity and especially taking it. Test cricket is my favourite form. If you can conquer Test cricket it is a massive boost," he added.
