I need no sympathy: Gautam Gambhir

Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, who was dropped yesterday by the national selectors for the first two Test matches against Australia starting February 22, took his axing positively


"No sympathies plz," Gambhir tweeted. "Lookin forward to training n then d india A game. Chin up guys, its time to show some steel. Come on. Had my bak to d wall in d past 2, dis is no difrent. Will fight. Very hapy 4 vijay n shikhar. Want India to win @ all costs, wid or widou me."

Gambhir replaced Dhawan in the India ‘A' side and will lead the team in a three-day game against Australia from February 16 in Chennai. He has not scored a century for three years in which he played 26 Tests, averaging 30.20. Gambhir enjoyed a successful 2008-09 series vs Australia at home: Tests 3, Runs 463, Highest 206, Avg 77.17.
