The Eden Gardens raised a toast to Kuldeep Yadav yesterday as they got to see a rare happening called hat-trick but many were willing to give Bhuvneshwar Kumar equal points, if not more, for his role in India's 50-run win over Australia in the second one-day international here.

Sending back the two openers before the total had reached double figures were debilitating blows from which the Aussies never quite recovered, and finishing with figures of 6.1-2-9-3 were just top-drawer stuff. Meanwhile, losing captain Steven Smith was left exasperated by another batting failure.

"Two hundred and fifty is a target we should have reached. Our top four need to execute their skills. We are losing wickets in clusters and this is happening far too often," said Smith after yet another defeat.

Hat-trick man Kuldeep Yadav today described his memorable feat against Australia in the second ODI here as a "special" effort and said he had never dreamt of achieving it.

Left-arm spinner Kuldeep today became only the third Indian to take a hat-trick as the hosts demolished Australia by 50 runs here.

"Not really," replied Kuldeep when asked if he had ever thought of taking a hat-trick. "This is special for me, it changed the game for us. It was a really proud moment," he added.

He said initially he was struggling to bowl in a particular area.
