Shah Rukh Khan was more than ecstatic after his team Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets to enter the IPL 2017 play-offs.
The Bollywood star took to Twitter to share a rather ironic fact which bares resemblance to one of his old Bollywood films 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa'. The two characters from the film that released in 1994 - Sunil and Chris (played by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepak Tijori respectively) - went on to win hearts for their performances.
23 years later after the release of 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa', a certain Sunil and Chris once again took the world by storm. Only this time it was Kolkata Knight Riders' very own Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn, who spearheaded an impressive batting display to see KKR through to victory.
Narine and Lynn posted a total of 105 in the first 6 overs, which is the highest in powerplay in the history of IPL to chase down their 159-run target in no time. Sunil Narine went on to score 54 off just 17 balls and also hit the joint fastest fifty in IPL history. Chris Lynn provided excellent support scoring 50 off 22 balls.
Shah Rukh Khan, took to twitter to share a then-and-now picture of 'Sunil and Chris' characters from Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa along with Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn. He captioned the picture saying: After Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa in '94, Sunil n Chris come together to make 105... well played boys! Ami KKR...
