Hyderabad: Having beaten Mumbai Indians (MI) thrice in this edition, Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) go into the final with their tails up. Even skipper Steven Smith is looking to take some confidence from that going into the big day, but he also said that it is performing on that particular day which matters in the end.
"We can definitely take a little bit of confidence from our previous wins, but form in cricket comes down to who plays best on that particular day. Moreover, like us, Mumbai Indians have also played some good cricket to reach this far, so though we can't take anything for granted, and I am sure the final will be another beauty," said Smith.
Pune have entered the final for the first time in their second year of participation. They started off on a sluggish note, but now look a team that is peaking at the right time. They also haven't let the absence of Ben Stokes and Imran Tahir influence their performance.
Another heartening aspect for Pune has been the way their youngsters -- Washington Sundar, Rahul Tripathi and Jaydev Unadkat -- have performed in the team's run to the final.
