Kolkata: It's not just the tremors of Saturday's earthquake that have shaken the two teams involved in a top-table clash today. Both Kolkata Knight Riders, back home after a fortnight on the road, and Rajasthan Royals will take to the Eden Gardens shaken by setbacks. It's time to find out if the events have had them suitably stirred.

The Royals saw their winning run of five matches snapped by a couple of defeats at home, and KKR have more than just a loss to get over. The resurfacing of suspicion over Sunil Narine's bowling action in the wake of Wednesday's defeat to the Sunrisers in Vizag has left them in some disarray.

Skipper Gautam Gambhir put up a brave face by reminding that there were quality spinners like Johan Botha, KC Cariappa and Kuldeep Yadav on the bench "to trouble anyone" but conceded: "Sunil has been our main bowler; the attack has revolved around him."

The Royals will be a trifle worried that their back-to-back defeats showed both batting and bowling in poor light. If they failed to defend a 191 target against Kings XI Punjab, on Friday their batsmen failed to put up enough on the board against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Rain threat
A mild cyclonic condition that forced the KKR nets indoors and may produce another rain-reduced match today too has added to the intrigue. Teams may prefer to chase a target in that enhanced uncertainty.
