Former India skipper Bishan Singh Bedi slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not being able to preserve the great legacy of the sport.

"Indian Premier League (IPL) is not my cup of tea. Test match is a legacy for me. But we are not interested in preserving our own legacy. It feels sad when our legacy is ruined. IPL is the Vidya Balan of Indian cricket - entertainment, entertainment, entertainment," he said at the, ‘How contemporary cricket can learn from India's cricketing heritage' talk show organised by Osian, a firm which plans to hold an auction of cricket memorabilia in the city on September 13. Former players Erapalli Prasanna, Ajit Wadekar and Anshuman Gaekwad were part of the discussion too.

Providing a balanced opinion of T20 cricket, former India opener and coach Gaekwad said: "I too belong to the same school of thought where Test cricket is the ultimate form of the sport. But I do not rule out the fact that IPL has actually helped in the revival of cricket in India. Indian cricket was going through a low and it looked like it would go the West Indies way. But the IPL that has enlightened the game."
