MS Dhoni will take no further part in the West Indies tri-series due to the hamstring injury he sustained during the opener and will be replaced by Mumbai Indians' Ambati Rayudu in the Indian squad.

Team India skipper MS Dhoni has been ruled out of the ongoing tri-series in the Caribbean due to a hamstring injury he picked up during India's opener against West Indies on Sunday.

Virat Kohli will lead India in the remainder of the tri-series. Hyderabad cricketer Ambati Rayudu has been named as Dhoni's replacement.

The BCCI confirmed the announcement on Twitter. The Indian board tweeted, "MEDIA ALERT: Team India skipper @msdhoni has been ruled out of the ongoing tri-series in the West Indies, due to a hamstring injury."

The injury had forced Dhoni to hand over his wicket-keeping responsibilities to Dinesh Karthik against the West Indies during the team's tri-nation series opener in Jamaica.

Earlier in the day, the BCCI had "Dhoni is not feeling good. He is going to be examined.

He has a hamstring issue," a source in the BCCI said here.

Dinesh Karthik kept wickets instead of Dhoni in their opening match last night, which was won by the West Indies by one wicket at Sabina Park, Kingston. The Windies won the game by one wicket at Sabina Park.

India are to take on Sri Lanka tomorrow at the same ground, and the source said that the selectors would take a call on the matter once his injury is assessed.
