New Delhi: Recovering from a shoulder injury, Indian batsman Rohit Sharma, who missed leading the Mumbai Indians franchise in the Oppo Champions League T20, is set to miss the limited-overs edition of the West Indies series starting October 8.
Rohit, who fractured his finger during the England ODIs, was intitially ruled out for four weeks but though his finger healed, the top-order batsman's shoulder continued to give him trouble. "To set the fractured bone, two pins had been inserted inside the hand and now as per my knowledge goes, it has been taken out. Rohit is hand is shaping up fine," a BCCI official told PTI today.

Rohit, 27, is being monitored by BCCI physios at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and is expected to make a return for the three Tests against the visiting Caribbean side starting October 30.
India are likely to continue with the opening combination of Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan, and Murali Vijay may be persisted with as a back-up option.
The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led India is scheduled to play five ODIs and a one-off T20 before heading into the Tests and Rohit is expected to return for the Board President XI against the visiting team in the three-day warm-up match in Kanpur on October 25.
Rohit, who made his Test debut in 2013 against West Indies in Kolkata, participated in all the 5 Tests in England before being injured in the second ODI. The talented batsman is expected to play a big part in India's tour Down Under starting December and the subsequent 2015 World Cup. Making his ODI debut in 2007, Rohit is a veteran of 124 ODIs and 42 T20 Internationals along with seven Test matches.
