New Zealand Scott Styris, who has opted out of the tour of Bangladesh due to a stress fracture, is optimistic that he will be available for the ODI series against India in November.

Styris said that he aims to be back at the bowling crease in six weeks.

"It had been niggly for a little while towards the end of last season, but not inhibiting," Stuff.co.nz quoted Styris, as saying.

"But it was over the last five days, literally, while playing in the UK Twenty20 competition with Essex, that it got considerably worse quite quickly and stopped me bowling."

"It was the same thing in Sri Lanka - I couldn't bowl even in practice," he added.

The 35-year-old further said that the key to recovery would be initial rest before strengthening up his back.

"Actually, I've just come from my first pilates session with Daryl Tuffey and Kyle Mills - Daryl's fiancee is a pilates instructor," he added.
