A destructive spell from Munaf Patel (5-70) and Sreesanth (3-46) packed up Mumbai for 230 runs in the first innings after they added just 30 runs to their overnight score of 200 for six.
Rest of India openers Abhinav Mukund (86 batting) and Murali Vijay (77 batting) put a solid display to end the day at 171 for no loss in the second innings and build up a healthy lead at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium.
Rest of India scored 260 runs in their first innings.
