Irfan Pathan is a man on a mission. "I am excited to be here. Whatever has happened before is in the past. I have fond memories of Australia, but I want to create fresh memories when I leave from here in March. I want to remind selectors that I can still play for the country," Pathan told MiD DAY while sauntering around, by himself on Bank Street on Thursday.

Pathan said he was disappointed to miss out on Test selection. "Obviously, it would have been nice to play the longer version. That is the ultimate format. But, I am glad just to be here. Even if I was here only for the T20s, I am glad to just be here. I just need an opportunity to show that I am finding my feet again," he said.u00a0 The southpaw sympathised with the Test team for their looming whitewash.
" These are things that happen in cricket. Nobody expected us to lose this badly. That's why it's hurting," he said.
