Pakistan bowling coach Aaqib Javed believes leg-spinner Danish Kaneria will play a key role on the final day tomorrow if his side are to win the third and final Test against Sri Lanka.
The tourists, already 2-0 down in the series, need seven wickets to win after Lanka were 183 for three at stumps yesterday. The Lankans are chasing an improbable target of 493, and while they began that world record chase well, their hopes were set back in the final session when Kaneria took the wickets of Malinda Warnapura (31) and Mahela Jayawardene (two). Pakistan bowling coach Aaqib Javedu00a0 said: "I'm very happy with the bowlers. I'm particularly pleased with Kaneria."
Javed believes the leg-spinner will deliver the goods for Pakistan today. "What is heartening is that the pitch offered a lot more turn than we expected after tea. The spinners, especially Kaneria will take advantage of that. They still need 300-odd runs which is a huge ask on any wicket. I think we have a very good chance."
