The state-of-the-art indoor academy of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) at Bandra Kurla Complex, which has been virtually shut for over a year, is all set to reopen in a few weeks after the managing committee approved Pradeep Kasliwal as the academy's Director of Coaching. Kasliwal is currently a part of the senior Mumbai team selection panel.
"Pradeep Kasliwal was one of the recommendations for the Director's role and the managing committee which met today (Monday) approved it," Prof Ratnakar Shetty, MCA vice-president, said yesterday.
MCA officials had promised that the indoor academy would be fully functional within a month during the Annual General Meeting on July 20. Prof Shetty informed that the special committee headed by Lalchand Rajput would appoint other support staff for the academy.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that issues related to Mumbai Ranji Trophy coach Sulakshan Kulkarni will be discussed when the Nari Contractor-headed Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) meets today. u00a0
