Kolkata: Former India all-rounder and skipper Kapil Dev will ring the newly-installed bell (similar to the one at the Lord's) on the first day of the second Test between India and New Zealand at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
The game will be the 250th Test to be held in India. The Cricket Association of Bengal will introduce a special coin to be used for the toss.
A similar coin will be presented to each India and New Zealand player by BCCI president Anurag Thakur on the third day of the Test. This special coin will be used for future Tests and limited overs matches at the venue. It is learnt that they will not be inviting former cricketers for the Test.
Normally, the CAB don't miss out on an opportunity to honour former greats.
