When India won the 2008 Test against Australia by a massive 320-run margin, many in the team would have believed that it was their finest triumph over the Australians.
Judging from the manner in which they clinched yesterday's opening Test of the 2010 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, they would be delighted to be proved wrong.
Each and every player from that 2008 playing XI is in this India squad save Sourav Ganguly, who retired after that series.
MiD DAY caught some of them for their reactions just as the team prepared to leave the opulent lobby of the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium for their hotel.
It is a wonderful victory. I will remember and savour this always.
