The Board of Control for Cricket in India rejected suspended Indian Premier League commissioner Lalit Modi's request to recluse Chirayu Amin and Arun Jaitley from the disciplinary committee yesterday.

The disciplinary committee was set up to investigate charges of financial irregularities against Modi, and the suspended chief had requested the Board to replace Amin and Jaitley since they hold positions in the Board. Jyotiraditya Scindia is the third member of the committee.

With Modi's lawyer Mehmood Abdi hinting at taking legal recourse, the tussle between Modi and the BCCI is, as expected, turning into a long drawn battle.

Many within the BCCI believe that since Modi does not have a clear plan of absolving himself, he will try and delay the matter.

However, Modi has often tweeted about wanting to resolve the matter as soon as possible although many believe it could be a ploy to misguide everyone.

Meanwhile, the England and Wales Cricket board yesterday instructed its star player Kevin Pietersen notu00a0 to meet Modi.

u00a0"Kevin Pietersen has been warned by the England and Wales Cricket Board against having more meetings with Lalit Modi, the defrocked former commissioner of the Indian Premier League, after they were seen together in London before the first Test with Pakistan at Trent Bridge," a report in the UK-based The Telegraph said.

Pietersen said that he had simply met up with a friend over a beer.
