It looked like a scare that the Indian team could have certainly done without. Munaf Patel ran in and delivered what seemed like an innocuous delivery until it rapped Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind the knee. Dhoni stretched a bit and resumed batting.
After facing a few more deliveries, Dhoni limped out of the net, picked up his bag and walked straight towards the dressing room.
The other players did not seem worried but physical trainer Ramji Srinivasan and physio Nitin Patel apparently spent a lot of time with the skipper, giving rise to speculation that Dhoni might not be playing the first ODI tomorrow. Speculation grew when, after more than an hour, Dhoni walked out to inspect the pitch with his left knee heavily strapped.
But as Dhoni was getting ready to leave for the hotel, the smile was back on his face and the strapping was gone. With a day still left, there's no cause for worry as Dhoni is almost certain to recover from the minor injury.
