After having felicitated former India and England skippers Nari Contractor and Ted Dexter, the Cricket Association of Bengal organised a unique way to present them to 20,000-odd crowd witnessing the Day One action of the third Test between India and England at the Eden Gardens yesterday. The event was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the India-England Test at Eden and the 80th year of India-England rivalry.

Both former captains were taken around in a golf cart on the lush green outfield of the hallowed venue during the lunch time which was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd.

Football, not cricket
Yeterday the media box in Kolkata was abuzz not with what would be the outcome of the Test, but how Manchester City crashed out of the Champions League after losing to Dortmund 0-1. The British journos were left wondering how City ended without a single win in their group.
