Hardwork was key behind 2-1 win over Chelsea, says Liverpool midfielder AdamCharlie Adam felt that hard work was the key to Liverpool's 2-1 win at Chelsea this afternoon. The Reds continued their fine recent record at Stamford Bridge, with Glen Johnson's goal winning it for them late on after Daniel Sturridge had cancelled out Maxi Rodriguez's opener.
Red hot: Liverpool's Luis Suarez chases the ball. Pic/AFPScotland international Adam had a hand in both goals, and after the game he told Sky Sports 1: "Hard work was the difference. We had good shape. We knew it would be difficult as Chelsea are a good team, but we have good players ourselves and it was a good way to bounce back from a difficult result against Swansea two weeks ago.
Charlie Adams"We have to come to places like this and win. We did well to bounce back from the goal we conceded." Adam went on to dedicate the win to goalkeeper Brad Jones, whose son died yesterday following a battle with illness.
"I'd like to dedicate that to Brad. He's had a difficult week so that's for you," he added. With all the pre-match talk concentrating on Fernando Torres coming up against his old team, it was Johnson, a former Chelsea player, who had the final say. "I was probably the last name on people's minds," Johnson said.
"I like to get forward and I'm grateful to get the goal."
