The board of English Premier League club Liverpool have received two new bids to buy the club, according to reports here on Tuesday.

It is thought one of the bids is from Asia, with the other from America.

A source close to the negotiations told BBC Sport: "Both would significantly reduce the debt and give the current owners their original investment back."

Liverpool were put up for sale by American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett in April, weighed down by debts of 351.4 million pounds (403.5 million euros).
