The Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) meeting of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) went as per schedule yesterday sans Sunil Gavaskar, who resigned as the chairman of the committee last month. A few important decisions like the appointment of coach and selectors were on the agenda, but they were put on hold because of the MCA elections, which are around the corner.
"The members decided that all the decisions will be taken after the elections because there could be changes in the CIC committee members as well," said Joint Honorary secretary Lalchand Rajput. "Various proposals were discussed in the meeting today," he added.
The meeting was chaired by former India cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar in the absence of Gavaskar. It is learnt that the same set of selectors will continue till the elections. However, they will pick the Mumbai probables. There was some discussion about the summer camps which the association conducts and the problems people who are in charge of them face. The committee discussed ways of tiding over those problems.
