Former India cricketers Chandrakant Pandit and Karsan Ghavri were left without clubs to represent in the forthcoming polls of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Yesterday was the last day for filing nominations of club representatives for the October 18 biennial elections. In 2011, Pandit represented Parel Sporting Club which has run into an authority dispute with another club Friends SC.u00a0

Ghavri, who represented Vengsarkar Foundation in the last elections, found himself stranded after Dilip Vengsarkar decided to include his wife Manali as a representative. The former India captain will represent Dadar Union Sporting Club. It effectively means that both Pandit and Ghavri cannot contest next month's elections.

Ghavri, however, was confident of contesting the elections. "Well, I have not yet left the field. All I would like to say is that I am keen to contest the elections. I would not like to say anything at this moment," Ghavri said.

Ghavri, Pandit and Balvinder Singh Sandhu were key aides of Vengsarkar panel when elections were held in 2011. It is learnt Pandit, who is chairman of the junior India selection committee, is not too keen to contest this time, while Sandhu has already made up his mind about not contesting the polls.u00a0
