Mumbai: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to take some drastic measures following a dismal season that its teams endured. While the defending champions were knocked out of the Ranji Trophy in the quarter-final by Maharashtra, all its age-group teams could not even qualify for the knockout stage.

This season has been a contrasting one for Mumbai, who practically won everything last year. The MCA has called for a Technical Committee meeting today after it was adjourned yesterday.

Sources said former India cricketers Lalchand Rajput and Abey Kuruvilla, who are a part of the rival Cricket First group, were not informed about the meeting in advance and hence the meeting could not take place.

A source said Rajput, however, managed to make it for the meeting at the scheduled time, but was unhappy with the shoddy treatment meted out to them. He urged the MCA to follow a proper procedure while calling for a meeting.

"Yes, the meeting was adjourned today as some members could not be informed on time. We have called for the Technical Committee meeting today," said Nitin Dalal, MCA's Joint Honorary Secretary.

MCA sources have hinted that the Technical Committee might recommend some major changes in terms of coaching posts. The Managing Committee would then look into the suggestions and recommendations of the Technical Committee.
