The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to appoint the new coach of the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team today.
Former India pacer and Mumbai's Ranji Trophy-winning captain Ajit Agarkar is in the fray apart from his former teammates Paras Mhambrey, who was one of the selectors in the last committee, and Sairaj Bahutule. Balvinder Singh Sandhu, the 1983 World Cupper, is also keen to coach Mumbai again.
Former India coach Lalchand Rajput will give a presentation before the Managing Committee makes a decision on who gets the hot seat.
The Managing Committee is also likely to decide on coaches for the other age-group teams and batting, bowling, fielding coaches at the state-of-the-art indoor academy in Bandra Kurla Complex.
