Injury is one of the biggest fears for any cricketer in India. With the amount of competition to make the playing XI, injury can prove fatal to one's career. Only a few have been fortunate in Indian cricket to make a comeback after injuries. Manoj Tiwary can certainly count himself to be amongst them.

Despite a history of injuries that have dogged his career so far, the Bengal dasher has always managed to make a comeback. He is one of the few fortunate ones to get the selectors' backing each time he has returned from injury.
'Tremendous faith'
"Yes, it is true that the selectors have shown tremendous faith in me. They believe that I can do well for my country. And most importantly, I also believe in myself that I can play for my country. I have to thank all the physios and trainers at the National Cricket Academy (Bangalore) who have helped me stand on my feet again. At one point, I thought I might never play again.
"I have also been scoring runs after coming back from the injuries," Tiwary told mid-day yesterday. Tiwary, who will lead India 'A' today against the visiting Sri Lankan team at the Brabourne Stadium, said captaining the side is an additional boost.
"They (the selectors) have given me the responsibility of leading the side which is helping me mentally as well because I know I am on their radar. I have to do consistently wherever I play," said Tiwary, who also led the India 'A' team against the touring West Indies last month.
Tiwary said he is now experienced enough to handle injuries better. "Many of the injuries have been freak. You can't avoid them, but I have to be careful with what I do. I have to be focused in my training," he said.
On a lighter note, he concluded: "I have been dealing with injuries for quite sometime, so I'm quite experienced in that field. But besides that, I got married last year, and share a lot of time with my wife, and that leaves me very little time to think about my injuries nowadays."
