Pune Warriors all-rounder Marlon Samuels has been reported for a suspect action by the on-field and TV umpires after his team's victory against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday evening.

According to a media release issued by IPL, on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Bruce Oxenford along with TV umpire Vineet Kulkarni reported the Jamaican's action. "Marlon Samuels has been reported for bowling certain deliveries with a suspected illegal action during IPL match against Chennai Super Kings, played in Pune on 14 April 2012. The bowler was reported by on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Bruce Oxenford, along with third umpire Vineet Kulkarni, at the conclusion of the match," the release stated.u00a0

This is not the first time Samuels' off-spinners have come under scrutiny. During a Test match against South Africa at Durban in 2008, umpires Simon Taufel of Australia and Dar, who also officiated in that game, had reported his action for the same ‘fast ball'. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) cleared his action last year. Against Chennai, Samuels bowled one at a speed of over 122 kmph.u00a0As of now, Samuels can bowl but if reported once again, he will be debarred from bowling during matches. u00a0
