Meet the oddball cricketers

Monty Panesar was pulled up for urinating on bar bouncers. But he's not the first cricketer to have walked the weird path. Sample these instances...

Pakistani batting stalwart Inzamam ul Haq couldn't take it anymore when a fan at the 1997 India vs Pakistan ODI series in Toronto kept teasing him about his weight. Inzy got a bat out from the Pakistan dressing room, chased the offending spectator and very nearly struck him with the piece of willow.

On the flight to England for the 1989 Ashes, Australia's top order batsman David Boon consumed 52 cans of beer which apparently broke all earlier marks set by Rod Marsh and Doug Walters. Reportedly, when the captain of the flight announced that Boonie took in what mere mortals couldn't, coach Bob Simpson was furious. However, Boon scored on the runs chart as well.

As the Indian team continued to be at the receiving end of Australia's prowess in the 2011-12 Test series Down Under, young gunu00a0Virat Kohli thought of his own way of dealing with heckling on the boundary line. He stuck out his middle finger and the photographers didn't miss out on a chance to capture the moment. Quite expectedly, Kohli got some flak for his action in Sydney.

Hansie Cronje was as intense as they came. South Africa had a lot going for them to win the Adelaide Test in 1998. But the Proteas were thwarted by a wonderful, gritty effort by centurion Mark Waugh, who thrived on some poor catching. The drawn result caused Cronje to lose it and he gave vent to his frustrations by piercing a stump in the dressing
room door. u00a0
