When Jorge Quinta Gasper came here all the way from Portugal, he didn't know anything about cricket, let alone the stalwarts of the game. It was a novel experience for him and his fellow countrymen and camera 'pilots', Pedro Oliveira and Frederico Mendes.

But the trio who operated the ‘Omnicam', known as the Spidercam in India , during the CLT20 have not only learnt the basics of cricket, but have also found out a way to recognise stars whom they have to chase from a distance.

"It has been a wonderful experience. I am reading the laws of cricket. Earlier we didn't know who the big players are, but our director instructed us to follow their shirt numbers in order to identify them. I think number 7 (Dhoni) and 10 (Sachin) are the big stars here in India.

But we know them only as number 7 and 10," Gaspar told MiD DAY. "It seems the crowd just loves number 7. They cheer when he comes on to the ground. Initially we faced a little difficulty, but now we know their field placings," said Oliveira.u00a0
