Skipper Misbah-ul Haq yesterday regretted his team's long term problems in batting after Pakistan lost the first of three limited overs matches against Australia by four wickets here on Tuesday.
Another batting collapse saw Pakistan them bowled out for 198 in 45.1 overs. In contrast, skipper Michael Clarke (96-ball 66) and George Bailey (57 not out) saw the Australia home in 48.2 overs.
Misbah said: "The strategy (to play seven batsmen) was obvious from the collapse, we are struggling in batting since the England series and then in Sri Lanka. That's why we had seven batsmen. We thought we can make 230 but a lot of the players are new and, so we couldn't get that."
