As per the schedule, the West Indies side was to train at the Brabourne Stadium twice yesterday: once in the morning (9am-12am) and in the evening (6.30pm-8pm). But due to some last minute miscommunication, they had to go back without training.
Lucy Benjamin, Media Manager of the ICC Women's World Cup said: "I had sent her (West Indies manager Patricia Greenidge) an e-mail in the evening about the practice session being rescheduled. But she forgot to check her mail in the evening and that's why the team landed here at the ground."
Greenidge had a different story to tell: "The practice timing was changed by the organisers. We didn't have any clue about it. That's what I can say." u00a0However, despite the setback, West Indies captain Merissa Aguilleira was optimistic.
Reacting to the incident during the pre-match conference Aguilleira said, "such things happen. I am glad that because of the circumstances, all of us (team) came together. We were there together for one more occasion ahead of the final and went back together."u00a0
