Cricket's 'anything-can-happen' side came to fore yet again when Mumbai Indians, mentored by Anil Kumble, bought Ricky Ponting for $400,000 yesterday.

Interestingly, Ponting led an Australian team which Kumble accused of being unsporting in the Sydney Test of the 2007-08 series Down Under.

Mumbai Indians have also had Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds playing in the same team after being central figures in the Monkeygate controversy which rocked India's 2007-08 series in Australia.

After that 122-run defeat at the Sydney Cricket Ground, here's what both captains reportedly said. Ponting: There is absolutely no doubt this match has been played in the right spirit.

Kumble (on being asked to respond to Ponting's view): "There was only one team playing in the spirit of the game, that's all I can say."u00a0Of course, all that is under the bridge now and that's how it should be. Who will lead Mumbai Indians this year in the wake of Harbhajan Singh's decision to give up the captaincy?
