Riding on a good show from Tanay Khandeshi (65) and left-arm spinner Atharva Bhosale (3-10), IES VN Sule Guruji English Medium School (Dadar) thrashed Rustomjee International School (Dahisar) by 192 runs in Round Four of the Giles Shield tournament at National CC, Cross Maidan yesterday.

Put in to bat, the Dadar outfit posted a massive 242 in their 44 overs. Yash Rajan (35) and Tanay added 114 for the opening wicket. It was Tanay who took the Rustomjee bowling attack to the cleaners, scoring 10 boundaries en route his 70-ball knock. However, his innings came to an end when Heet Ranawat trapped him leg before. Harsh Salunkhe perished for 37 after he was caught and bowled by Rustomjee skipper Vansh Patel. The off-spinner was also the pick of the bowlers, taking four for 21.

In reply, Rustomjee found themselves in trouble with two wickets down in the second over. Devendra Shekhavat was the first to depart after he was caught by 'keeper Yash Chavan. Skipper Vansh too could not contribute to the run chase. For IES, Ayush Ghadge, Amaan Khan and Aryan Phadtare picked two wickets each. Meanwhile, in another match, Akshat Pathak's 3-26 along with Ayush Jethwa's 40' and two for 10 helped Swami Vivekanand International School (Borivli) seal a seven-wicket win over Rajhans Vidyalaya (Andheri).
