The highlight of Rahane's memorable season was his 103 against England at Lord's in 2014 which guided India to its first Test victory at the spiritual home of cricket since 1986.

Rohit Sharma, the man in the news for his team's (Mumbai Indians) Indian Premier League-8 title on Sunday, was given a special award for his record-breaking 264 in a one-day international against Sri Lanka at Kolkata in November 2014. Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara clinched International Cricketer of the Year award.

Legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev was honoured with the CCR International Lifetime Achievement award. Deepak Hooda claimed the Young Player of the Year award while West Indian Dwayne Bravo got rewarded for his T20 exploits. Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath was announced as bowler of the year.
