The entire first innings of the Deccan Chargers versus Mumbai Indians game went off smoothly, but one incident in the last over marred the game. There were some unpleasant words exchanged between Munaf Patel, Amit Mishra and Shikhar Dhawan.
The incident took place in the final over bowled by MI's Munaf after he was hit for a six off the first ball in the 19th over by Dhawan. Mishra took strike off the third ball, managed to hit a four through a miscued shot which caused Munaf to lose his temper. The two exchanged words. Next ball, Mishra managed to toss it over square leg for four. Eye contact, but no words were exchanged this time. The fifth ball was even more dramatic as the two India teammates collided. There was a tussle between the two and umpire S Ravi had to intervene.
Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar had a word with Munaf, but the pacer refused to budge. He was quite animated while talking to Tendulkar.
Mishra, who looked in full flow, again smashed the last ball over mid-wicket for four and had the last laugh.
The Deccan duo slammed 23 runs and ended up posting 135-5.
Though it is not known as to who started the drama, the trio or one of them is likely to face some heat.
