Need to work on hook shot: Pujara

"I know I have to leave the ball above the shoulder, but I have to practise hard and will work on this shortly," Pujara said after the day's play.

The Saurashtra batsman along with opener Murali Vijay put on a record 370 runs for the second wicket, erasing the previous mark held by Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar. The two former India captains stitched together an unbeaten partnership of 344 runs against the West Indies in Kolkata in 1979.

Wasn't aware of record
Pujara wasn't aware of the 34-year-old feat. "I am unaware of what record we (he and Vijay) have broken," he admitted.

The batsman, however, showed no emotions even after scoring the bulk of the runs. "Be it club, Ranji Trophy, domestic match or playing for country, my ambition is always to score big," he said.

Talking of the team's game plan today, Pujara said: "The task of the spinners will be to land the ball on the rough."u00a0
