Nepal beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) by six wickets in the World Cup Qualifier playoff match to claim ODI status for the first time. Batting first, PNG were bowled out for 114 in 27.2 overs, thanks four wickets each by Dipendra Singh Airee (4-14) and Sandeep Lamichhane (4-29). In reply, Nepal chased the target with 27 overs to spare.
