Kolkata: As the cricketing world is stressing over the future of Test cricket, India's biggest cricket names, Anil Kumble and Virender Sehwag reckon the danger to cricket's longest form is not immense in India.
"I don't know about other countries, but in India, there is no danger to Test cricket. I also think there is no need to change anything in Test cricket to make it more popular," said Virender Sehwag at a book release function here yesterday.
A book to commemorate India's 500th Test has been published by The Hindu group. Meanwhile, Kumble, the chief coach of Team India, said: "We have been hearing that Test cricket will be killed since Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket. Everyone in our team likes to play Test cricket."
VVS Laxman insisted that there must be role models to look up to and emulate at the Test level.
