An octopus called Iker has predicted that Manchester United will beat Barcelona in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday.

According to The Daily Star, the octopus, named after Spain's goalkeeper Iker Casillas, decided by using a tentacle to choose a sardine from a cylinder decorated with United's badge rather than Barca's.

It made its forecast at the Sea Life Aquarium in Benalmadena, Spain.

During the World Cup in South Africa last year, Paul, an octopus in the German town of Oberhausen, became world famous after correctly predicting all the results involving the German team, as well as that of the final, won by Spain.

United players can expect to pick up around 350,000 pounds each if they beat Barcelona as part of a nine million pounds reward for winning the title and conquering Europe.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi and his teammates will earn 650,000 pounds each if they win the title.

It works out at more than 7,000 pounds per minute or 120 pounds for every second on the pitch.

When Barca beat United 2-0 in Rome to complete the Treble two years ago, they picked up around 15.5 million pounds.
